It’s 1986. I’m a freshman at Vanderbilt University, discovering a whole new world of college life…and one of my first new friends….the wonderfully kind, funny, smart and genuinely awesome Doug Scott. Over the next four years, I shared many fun times and a whole lot of laughing with Doug. After graduation, I returned to Texas, and Doug began his sojourn into the corporate world. Fast forward more years than I really care to admit, I caught up with Doug, and his amazing business and Faith venture: Redeem Your Ground.
Hey y’all! As I shared with you this week, it’s been a fast three months since I launched The Curious Cowgirl…time flies! One of my favorite topics is a good Fascinating Personality. I love meeting new and interesting folks, and then sharing their stories with you! Today….let’s do a Fascinating Personality Roundup!
I’m silly excited to highlight the incomparable James Faust on the Blog today! Dallas Film Guru for sure!!!!
When the Curious Cowgirl was in 2nd Grade, Mrs. Prude (I swear…that was her name) announced to my parents that I was a real-life Chatty Kathy doll. I’m certain her comment was not intended as a compliment. But, hey….we chatty gals talk a lot, because we have something to SAY. My dear friend Libby Hunt is a kindred spirit, admitting in a letter written to herself at the age of 14, “I love to talk a lot…I mean a LOT!” What is Libby talking about these days? Movies! And y’all are gonna want to listen to what she has to say!
Hey y’all! OK….so how many of you have a sibling? Raise your hand. Now….how many of you would want to work day in and day out with said sibling? I can see Jenna Jackson and Anthony Jackson raising their hands! Why? Because they are the dream sibling team behind P+R Productions, and their passion for telling authentic stories through film is amazing!!!
In 2011, Will and I travelled to NYC to experience Antiques Week. Wanting to see everything we possibly could see in three days, we also visited The Armory Show. And that is where we met an art dealer, known in some circles as “The Professor” is none other than Josh Lowenfels, a dear dear man who has become one of our closest friends, and truly one of the most fascinating personalities I know!
