Holiday Cheer with Brut Rose Bubbles from Italy

Dear friends, we are all fully rockin’ around those Christmas Trees, spreading Holiday Cheer, lighting candles in remembrance and hope and in celebration of miracles.  Basically, we are partying ’till the cows come home (as we like to say in Texas)!  And what makes a celebration even more special?  A sparkling cocktail made with my very favorite Italian Brut Rose from the Baracchi Winery in Cortona, Italy!

I met the Baracchi Family about 10 years ago when I visited their gorgeous Relais and Chateaux property.   Here’s a Blog post with all the details!  But for now, let’s discuss the Baracchi wines.  Guided by Riccardo Baracchi and his son Benedetto, their strong desire is to join the world of hospitality, good cuisine and wellness with the production of great wines. Cultivation dating back to 1860, Riccardo and Benedetto collaborate with the enologist Stefano Chioccioli, adding a modern and high quality character to an ancient family tradition.

I have visited Il Falconiere many times, but most recently on my honeymoon with Will.  A special gift to me?  An entire CASE of Brut Rose Metodo Classico, shipped directly to Dallas with the help of our friends at Molesini’s, an amazing wine shop in Cortona, Italy. Check out their website, y’all!   We also purchased, and had shipped home, Tuscan Olive Oil, Olive Tapenade, and several flavors of jams made from fruits grown around Cortona.  It is also possible to order amazing wines directly from The Baracchi Winery!

My husband is sober for 29 years now…so what do do with an entire CASE of what I consider to be pure liquid gold?  Hoarding it all for myself is certainly an option, and I know y’all wouldn’t judge me for doing just that.  But, Christmas is about family and friends and turning up the volume on the Spirit of the Season.  So, (spoiler alert Denton/Evans/Meier/West/Swope people) on Christmas Eve, I’m sharing my treasure with the people I love the most, and serving up a sparkling Christmas cocktail.

TIPS

  • Adding a splash of color to your glass is very festive!  Raspberries, Blueberries and even Pomegranate seeds look great during the Holidays!
  • For a splash of green, consider a sprig of Rosemary for garnish!
  • Rim your glass with colored sugar!  The added decoration looks adorable!

Mainly…….Cheers y’all!!!!
