Looking for some Texas Antique Flea Market action in January?  Look no further than the Round Top Flea Market Winter Show.  The weather might be cold, it might be mild, but for die-hard antique hunters, this show is a must-add to your buying trip calendar!

Round Top Flea Market Winter Show

The Round Top Flea Market is arguably one of the largest and most famous flea markets in the United States.  Typically held twice each year, in the Spring and in the Fall, this sprawling hunters paradise draws dealers and buyers from all over the world.

Not long ago, a third event was added to the mix, right in the heart of Winter.  Risky?  Nope, actually brilliant.  There’s not many antique shows happening during the first quarter of the year, and buyers and collectors are always eager to find an early in the year opportunity.

If you are familiar with the craziness and crowds of Round Top in the Spring and Fall, the Winter Show will feel a little different.  Fewer venues are open, but those that are have GREAT quality and are worthy of shopping!

The Round Top Winter Show seems to grow larger each year, so if I have not listed one of your favorite shows, be sure and check their website to see if they are participating this year.

Many of the permanent shops and restaurants in Round Top proper are open as well.  We have been able to walk into Royers, which is unheard of during the Spring and Fall, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed you will have the same luck.

Where to Stay and Eat for the Round Top Winter Show

The good news is, the crowds are MUCH less crazy than the Spring and Fall shows.  But you still need to plan ahead if you want to rent a Guest House in the area.  We typically stay in either Brenham or in Bastrop at a National Chain Hotel.

If you choose to stay in Bastrop, we can recommend Maxine’s Cafe for Breakfast, and for dinner we often enjoy a meal at Neighbor’s Kitchen and Yard (great outdoor seating if the weather is nice) and Gracie’s for Chicken Fried Steak.

I hope you make time to visit Round Top this winter!  If you’d like more information about antiquing in Round Top, you can read this post.
